Rebel Wilson who plays the leading character role as Natalie desires endless flower love that every girl dream. However, Natalie founds herself falling for a different kind of love which is referred to as romantic comedy love.
Natalie was brought up by a cynical mother who discouraged and destroyed her flighty nations about romantic love. The film opens with Natalie at age 12 watching a movie where she admires some character. Her mother tells her that such a movie doesn’t feature girls like them. She later came to realize that real life is different from the film.
Natalie is disenchanted with love because she does not believe she is attractive. She is transported into her nightmare and find herself living in New York City where she works in an architect firm. She has all the shoes and also attracts handsome guys. Nevertheless, no one appreciates her at the firm except Josh (Adam Devine) who are workplace friends. It is obvious Josh has a romantic crush on Natalie, but it is clear he was in the friend zone area.
One day Natalie got mugged, and she wakes up in the hospital. She falls in love with her doctor as everyone around found her very attractive. Some men flirt with her such as a wealthy handsome man who is a client at their office called Blake (Liam Hemsworth).
Blake takes Natalie for a date which includes candlelight dinner at the yacht owned by Blake and a helicopter trip. Moreover, Natalie experience her first dramatic kiss in the rain while standing in the street next to the Chrysler building and Empire state building.
Interestingly, Josh finds himself in a dramatic affair as he plans to marry a glamorous, gorgeous swimsuit model (Priyanka Chopra). Josh saved the swimming model from choking and immediately a passionate love relationship sparks between the two characters.
